Yonge Lawrence Village camp expo- Who’s coming?
Join Hatch Canada this Sunday, March 5th at the Yonge Lawrence Village Camp Expo! This free family event showcases local community kids programs and camps (March Break and Summer) to help kids and parents explore what’s happening in the neighbourhood. It will be a fun day of discovery, and attendees will even get the chance to win some great prizes. The event will also feature free giveaways and grab bags so you won’t go home empty handed.
Why You Should Attend
The Yonge and Lawrence neighbourhood is home to a large number of kids programs (like Hatch) that you may not have encountered. This fun event lets you get the scoop on local programs, and have fun while you’re at it! The event offers parents the opportunity to meet with program directors and camp staff, and try out a free activity at each program information table.
Who’s Coming
There are some amazing local exhibitors for this event. Along with Hatch Canada, other local businesses that will be present include Panda Mandarin, Freehand Art, Tandem Studios Toronto, The Spanish Schoolhouse and Focus Learning.
Hatch Canada Camps are offered in 3 GTA locations during March Break, Summer Break and on PA Days. Hatch Canada is a STEM program that teaches coding to kids with a unique project-based approach. The program creates experiences and memories for kids that will last a lifetime. Hatch Canada Camps teach new skills that open doors for kids and provide them with the tools required to succeed in the 21st century.
Kids learn computer languages and make awesome things every day. They learn how to think critically and creatively, and how to collaborate. Kids build their skills in programming by choosing their own projects to work on every day under the guidance of our trained (and very fun) coaches.
We love to see great children’s programs succeed, so here is some information about our fellow exhibitors:
Panda Mandarin is not your typical language school. They are committed to making learning Mandarin fun, engaging, and authentic for all students. This is really important because Mandarin is a very difficult language to learn! Their programs are highly interactive through music, games, and art, but also place a strong focus on practical applications of Mandarin. Students are supported by highly qualified teachers. “Our camps make learning Mandarin fun and experiential.” The program is about more than just learning Mandarin:
The camp features weekly field trips to places like the zoo and the art gallery. Panda Mandarin’s director, Yollanda Zhang, lives in the neighbourhood and has been very active in the community as a parent.
The Spanish Schoolhouse offers Spanish Day Camp programs during March Break and Summer Break. Campers are introduced to the Spanish language, along with Spanish cultural activities, Spanish foods, music, crafts and sports. The Spanish Schoolhouse loves being part of the Uptown Yonge Community.
Learning a new language at a young age is a good idea because you have a better chance of becoming fluent in that language with practice.
In part 2 of this blog series, we will introduce the rest of the exhibitors that will be attending the event!
We hope you’ll join Hatch Canada (and our fellow exhibitors) at the Yonge Lawrence Village Camp Expo on March 5th from 11am to 3pm at 3202 Yonge Street in Toronto. We can’t wait to celebrate this amazing neighbourhood and show you what we’re all about!
